I hope you’re all doing well, I’m just back from a weekend in Milan! we all know that means I did some shopping, don’t worry there’ll be new reviews on some off the products I purchased there. But for today I’m going to be reviewing a range of matte lip glosses which are called the the essence matt, matt, matt long lasting lipgloss. I purchased these a while back I think, they were really cheap, going for around £2 I believe. Available here on the essence website.
”The creamy mousse texture of the new lipgloss range provides long-lasting colour with a high coverage and a velvety-matt finish.” -Essence
Essence lip products, for the most part tend to be pretty awesome, they always a really extensive shade range to cater for everyone’s needs. They’re super creamy and hydrating on your lips however the time they last is generally pretty limited. The packaging on this one is quite basic and generic but decent sized. The applicator is a sort of triangular doe-foot applicator making it easy to apply overall, not the most precise wand ever but it gets the job done.
The product itself is quite thick and moussey which I like, it feels lightweight and almost powdery on the lips. However it tends to become quite clumpy if you pack too much product onto the lips. It’s quite opaque and very pigmented since the formula is so thick, this means that one layer works just fine. It doesn’t flake and the colour is definitely intense, no doubt about that.
- price – clumpy
- shade range – needs regular reapplication
- pigmentation – applicator isn’t the best
- lightweight – smudges quite easily when wet
- So overall I would recommend this product if you’re looking for more of a thick and creamy liquid lipstick that doesn’t fully dry on your lips and feels light. it is a great product if you don’t mind re-applying it. It’s one of my favourite liquid lipstick ranges and I do use it lots of the time, and love the way it looks when I do.
At the end of the day, it’s £2 and i think it should totally be worth more but i’m not complaining 😉 It still doesn’t beat the inglot ones which really are just that little bit better but of course you’d expect that from the price difference. I would actually say it is a ten second application and you 100% don’t need two coats of it at all.
